Why we refuse some DIY instructions

For homeowners

HomeForeman triages problems into do-it-yourself or hire-a-pro. Some categories are hard-stopped in the application itself: gas work, main electrical panel and service entrance work, structural changes, roof work, and anything showing active-danger signs.

For those, the app will not produce DIY instructions no matter how the question is phrased, and that behavior is enforced in code, not left to an AI's judgment. You'll get safety guidance and a push toward a licensed pro instead.

This is deliberate product philosophy: we win your trust by telling you when NOT to do things, including when not to hire anyone at all.
