HomeForemanexists to be the homeowner's advocate, and that starts with being straight about data.
What we collect
- Account info: email and a hashed password (we never store the password itself).
- Home profile: address, home details, systems and appliances, photos and documents you upload (inspection reports, appliance plates, shutoff photos, problem photos).
- Activity: maintenance history, triage requests, prices you confirm or check.
How we use it
- To run the product: schedules, reminders, triage, and local price context.
- AI features send the relevant content (a photo, a PDF, your problem description) to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate the result you asked for.
- Prices you confirm feed anonymized, aggregated local price statistics (no name, no address attached).
- Payments are processed by Stripe; card numbers never touch our servers.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your personal data.
- We don't sell your contact info to contractors or lead brokers.
- We don't show ads.
Your controls
You can edit or delete your home data in the app, and you can request account deletion, which removes your personal data from the live database. Anonymized aggregates (like area price medians) are not tied to you and persist.
Security
Passwords are hashed (bcrypt), sessions are httpOnly cookies, uploads are private to your account. No system is perfect; report concerns and we'll act quickly.
